If you have a question about anything on the site, we would like to hear it. Whether a swap has not worked in your kitchen, your council does something different to ours, or you want to suggest a topic, this is the place.
We read everything that comes in, though we cannot always reply to every message personally. If a question is one others share, it often becomes a new guide or an update to an existing one.

The most useful messages are specific. Tell us what you tried, what happened, and what you would like to know. “My bread goes mouldy in two days even in a bin” gives us something to work with. “How do I live zero waste” is harder to answer well. Good reasons to get in touch include the following.

Suggesting a topic or a correction
If there is something we have not covered that you think we should, say so. We keep a list of reader requests and work through it as we write. Naming the specific problem helps us write a more useful page — “reusable produce bags that survive a wash” is a better request than “shopping”.
If we have got a fact wrong or a link is broken, tell us that too. Small corrections keep the site reliable, and we would rather fix a mistake quickly than let it sit. Include the page name so we can find it without guessing, and one line about what you expected to see instead.

- A wrong figure, a step in the wrong order, a link that no longer opens. Corrections do not need to be polite and long.

- Tell us how to reduce household waste in your situation and where the current advice stops short. That is usually where a new page starts.

How we handle your message
We read messages in the order they arrive, so it can take a little while during busy periods. We only use your details to reply to you and to improve the site. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not pass your message on to anyone else.
We are a small UK resource rather than a shop or a helpline. That means we can answer general questions about zero waste living, sustainable lifestyle habits and low waste home routines — but we cannot give tailored advice about your specific home, your tenancy, or your council contract. The guides are written so you can apply the principles yourself.

Sharing an upcycling project
If you have made something from reused materials and want to share it, we would love to see it. A short description and a photo are plenty. Tell us what the original item was and how you turned it into something new, so we can pass the idea on accurately.
We cannot feature everything, but we do read them all, and project ideas often end up inspiring a new post. If you would rather not have your name shown, just say so when you send it.
Useful to include: the original item, how long it took, and what you would change next time.

One note on timing
We are a small editorial site, not a call centre. Email and the form are the two reliable routes; the phone is answered on weekdays during opening hours, and messages left outside those hours get read on the next working day.

Often, but not always. We read every message and reply where we can, though busy periods mean a delay. Questions that many readers share may be covered in a guide instead, which reaches more people than a single reply would.
Do you offer personalised advice?
We answer general questions, but we cannot give tailored advice about your specific home. The guides are written to help you apply the principles to your own situation — and if your situation is unusual, that is worth telling us, because it often means a guide needs a caveat.
Can I send a photo of an upcycling project?
Please do. Mention it in your message and we will reply with somewhere to send it. Tell us what the original item was, roughly how long the project took, and whether you are happy to be named — a short description alongside the photo is all we need to describe it accurately.
Is there anything to buy on this site?
No. Rethink & Reuse is an educational resource. We do not sell products, run a shop or take payment through this page. Messages are for questions, corrections and ideas only, which keeps the recommendations on the guides free of commercial pressure.
Reader input is how the site gets better
